Improve your study skills: Research Rimu- where do you find it? Why is it important to Māori? What uses does it have? Why is Rimu the best tree in the school?

Where do you find it?

Rimu grows throughout New Zealand, in the North Island, South Island and Stewart Island. Although the largest concentration of trees is now found on the West Coast of the South Island, the biggest trees tend to be in mixed podocarp forest near Taupo, in the Pureora, Waihaha, and Whirinaki Forests.

Why is it important to Māori?
The aromatic leaves of the conifer were used in vapour baths.

What uses does it have?
To make tables and chairs and other things

Why is Rimu the best tree in the school?
Because rimu house is amazing and it has really good teachers in it and we do heaps of cool things!!!!
